Is orchiectomy avoidable in testicular tuberculosis mimicking malignancy? A case report

Abstract Background Isolated testicular tuberculosis (TB) is extremely uncommon. It has non-specific presentation; thus, diagnosis challenging and often discovered on pathology examination after orchiectomy. Case presentation We report herein the case of a 73-year-old male, with no significant medical or family history, who presented left scrotal swelling, physical revealed firm mass measuring 3 cm ultrasound was suggestive tumor. Left inguinal orchiectomy performed pathologic TB. The typically mimicking cancer evocative evidence TB; this can lead to dilemma highlights need consider TB in differential tumor, especially areas endemic for disease. Conclusions aim our argue if avoidable. also illustrates probable hematogenous lymphatic spread Mtb testicle.
